The best months to fly: the dry season (November to May)
If you have flexibility in your travel dates, aim for the dry season between November and May. During these months the atmosphere over the valley is at its most stable: light morning winds, minimal cloud cover, and the kind of long, clean visibility that lets you see the full geometry of the Avenue of the Dead and both great pyramids from the air. This window also gives you the highest probability that your scheduled date will fly exactly as planned.
Within the dry season there's a subtle trade-off. The cool months of November through February deliver the crispest, most postcard-clear skies, but pre-dawn temperatures can be cold — a hat, gloves and a warm jacket make the wait far more enjoyable. From March to May the mornings warm up while staying dry, which many travelers find the most comfortable balance of all. Any month in this range is an excellent choice.

Flying in the rainy season (June to October)
Don't write off a summer trip. In the Valley of Mexico the rainy season is defined by afternoon and evening storms, not all-day rain. The upside is a lush, green valley and skies that can turn genuinely spectacular as the first light catches lingering clouds.
The honest caveat is that the rainy months carry slightly more day-to-day variability, and an unsettled front can occasionally push a launch. That's precisely why our weather policy matters: if your morning can't fly safely, you don't lose anything. You simply move to another sunrise at no cost.
